In 1920, the British government established several institutions known as "University Cores" (UC). This name was changed to University Training Cores (UTC) in 1923. In 1950, it became the Battalion University Officers Training Cores (UOTC). By 1966, the program expanded to include certain colleges under the name Junior Cadet Cores (JCC). Cadets from this program actively participated in the War of Independence in 1971. In 1976, all these programs were merged to form the "Bangladesh Cadet Cores" (BNCC). Since 1995, the BNCC has been operating at Adamjee Cantonment Public School, a tradition that continues today
